The Fourteenth Annual Celebration of Abraham
Embodying Hope: A Call to Action

A Celebration of Abraham

After all the vitriolic rhetoric in the last year and a half, the planners of the Celebration of Abraham felt that participants in the Celebration might want to focus on speaking with each other. Moreover, we believed that we all could use some help in carrying on meaningful conversations with folks who are not exactly like us. And that is just what this year’s Celebration will do. Rather than opening the Celebration with speakers discussing a topic from three different perspectives, we will have Mary Anne Ingenthron, president of Sage-ing International lead us in how to use the Circle Process is a way of having meaningful and deep conversations that are fully inclusive and respectful. We have also expanded the time that folks at the tables will have to discuss the topics.

This year we also are asking folks to commit to taking the Celebration into the world. Participants will complete commitment cards that will provide with some options, as well as room for their suggestions, for increasing interfaith understanding.

The free will offering this year will be to the UC Davis Program that provides support to undocumented students. Checks should be addressed to the UC Regents with Aggie Dream Fund in the memo line.
